I understand that as soon as a thread like this is started, people are re-directed to Greek Rank, but Greek Rank is horrible and biased! Pi Phi: Their PC18 had some snap bids and it seemed like this year girls prefered Zeta and Chi O above Pi Phi. They matter more to the houses with the top GPAs and sometimes even more to the ones that dont have top GPAs but want to move up on that list. Which is best probably depends on what you think is important. Because honestly, sororities aren't like what you see in the movies. Foh with this backwards, regressive, and insulting nonsense suggesting being pretty and good looking is the main thing that defines a sororitys worth, this isnt 1950 and youre no longer in high school. Having stellar grade matter. Furthermore, if you're going to generalize like this, then include all panhellenic sororities, not just the largest national groups. She did not have anyone in any houses pulling for her as our high school is very lowly represented at UT. Delta Zeta is probably the hardest to get in on our campus. No one here should discuss sorority reputations, and certainly not name names, because frankly with over 200 girls in each house you really cant pigeonhole them that way. Most freshmen at all three of their pref nights went PKT. At my school the top three sororities are Delta Zeta, Tri Sigma, and Alpha Sigma Alpha. At this point I have to assume you have already submitted all of your letters of recommendations and done the required paper work for recruitment. Also remember that each sorority is special in their own way and just because you arent in the same chapter as your friend or someone else doesnt mean you cant be friends or be supportive of their chapter. When they put on this show of being social, they can become unclassy and sloppy. We don't have much of that her in or country, but from what I have gathered it's not so bad if you find the right one to be a part of. PKT..very different chapters but all three required major connections to get in. Yea KKG! I've met s lot of heavy, mean, unattractive kappas and KDs. Finally, which would you like to be a sister in (if you were into that type of thing)? The sorority touts its diversity, but some say the standards are so loose that theres very little tying all Chi-Os together in terms of personality, looks, campus activity, or academic performance. This years PC is cute and fun from what Ive seen so far. Article seems slanted. I find that college is s great place to create lasting friendships, with or without a sorority. Kappa.doesnt have the rich rep, or cute, they kinda hate each other. Well see where the year takes them, though. Chi-Os are known for academics and being the good girls. Greek life is a fantastic experience where so many memories and bonds are made and stereotypes should not be considered during recruitment. My fear is that rather than focusing on things you can control (conversation skills, brushing up your resume, getting recs in order, rush wardrobe, grooming) you are looking for something that quite frankly, you are going to have very little control over at all.

You will find some houses that have crazy pride and splash their letters all over the place and you will find some that dont really care. Most girls need connections to get in. Most girls have a connection to get in here and usually have been told they will be a Pi Phi before rush week begins. The Office of the Dean of Students provides a variety of student support services along with opportunities for leadership experience, diverse student work environments, engaging programming and specialized resources. Nice girls tho who are looking for a sisterhood. Seriously. Not every sorority is going to have the same reputation on every campus, and trust me, reading this crap will just make you miserable during recruitment. Look past the make up/money/chapter stereotype. Pi Beta Phi girls ("Pi Phis) are considered by most to be top-tier but also have a reputation as fake and superficial.
